"As an adult learner, I always thought that learning a new instrument will definitely be tough, especially the harp which at first looks incredibly complex! But Dora's patience and constant encouragement ever since the beginning has made the journey so much easier. What I enjoy most about her lessons is that we are taught to understand the music and convey those feelings to others.

Dora tailors her teaching to fit her students' needs, making every lesson enjoyable. Looking back, I managed to see my progress and how much l've learnt!"

"I almost gave up learning the harp, until I chanced upon Dora. She is a patient, nurturing teacher who keeps me motivated and builds up my confidence. Under her tutelage, I am no longer conscious of my age or handicap.

At the same time, she is meticulous. This is important as each of us has different physique and fingers. She will observe, analyse and make suggestions to help you overcome difficulties. She is ever watchful over your fingers placement, posture and reminds you to be relaxed. This minimises injury and pain, especially for an adult learner like me, and this makes my learning enjoyable.

There is a saying that`You can't coach the way you've played the game'; Dora is not just a performer, she is an engaging and dedicated teacher!"

"When our mum became a nonagenarian, she said she wanted to learn to play the harp. We didn't take her seriously, as we thought the harp strings might be a strain on her fingers. Our mum was almost 97, when she started her first lesson in March 2021. She was so excited, she listed the hymns she wanted to play and told Dora it was a dream come true for her to play the harp. She enjoyed all the lessons, although she had only 7 before the tightened measures of Phase Two (Heightened Alert) kicked in.

The harp lessons were really useful in helping to slow down our mum's short term memory loss, exacerbated by the Circuit Breaker in 2020. The lessons were like brain gym workouts for her. Also, surprisingly, her fingers didn't hurt at all!

Our mum always said that it was good for the brain when we learn a new language or learn to play a musical instrument. The harp was very special for her as she loved the 'watery' sound of the strings; she found it so soothing. Also she would often recall the bible story of David's soothing harp music.

Our mum felt so blessed to have had Dora as her teacher. Dora has such a loving generous heart and was ever so kind, gentle and patient. Truly, our family has been blessed by Dora and her music.
